Proteus provides services to agricultural workers and their families.
Generally, services are provided to individuals who have performed farmwork in the last two years and anyone in their family. Qualified farmwork would be working with animals on a farm or in a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO). Activity in the fields or in a greenhouse with plants or seeds also qualify.
Some programming is available to meat processing workers and their families.
Testimonials
Agricultural workers come from all different backgrounds…
“I come from a long line of farmworkers. I moved to Indiana about 5 years ago and that was my first run-in with Proteus. I was working weeding fields for farmers in North Judson, Indiana and I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. Once I gained access to Proteus and Jesusa through the programs that they offer, I was able to go through two years of school, gain my associate degree in criminal justice, and am now on my way to attaining my bachelor’s degree.”
