Taking the first step toward better health can feel like a big challenge, but at Proteus, Inc., we make sure farmworkers don’t have to do it alone. The PASO Program is here to walk alongside farmworkers and their families on their journey to wellness, providing the support and resources so they can take better control of their health.
What is the PASO Program?
PASO means “step” in Spanish, and it helps patients take the first “step” towards better health. PASO also stands for Productos Agrícolas para la Salud de los Obreros, which in Spanish means “Produce for worker health.” The program is also a key part of our Agricultural Health Program. It’s designed to help farmworkers and their families prevent and manage chronic health conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. We provide personalized support, health education, and regular check-ins to help you build healthy habits that last a lifetime.

“I have been diabetic for 18 years. This year, [the PASO Program] has helped me a lot. I’ve been able to keep [my A1C levels] low. Right now, I feel very good. I have energy to move; I didn’t have it before.”

Partners and Sponsors of PASO
The PASO Program would not exist without the support and infrastructure provided by our partners. Thank you for delivering healthy food to the farmworkers who deliver it to us.
