What is the Nebraska Farmworker Recognition Luncheon?
The Nebraska Farmworker Recognition Luncheon is an annual celebration hosted by Proteus, Inc. to honor the contributions of Nebraska’s farmworkers and the organizations that support them. This event brings together champions for farmworkers to:
- Recognize outstanding farmworkers and partners making a difference.
- Share inspiring stories of resilience, empowerment, and success.
- Raise funds to support vital programs that empower farmworkers and their families.
Funds raised through this luncheon benefit Proteus, Inc.’s National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP). This program provides farmworkers and their families with access to:
- Financial assistance for tuition, transportation, and other education-related expenses.
- Training programs to develop valuable skills and advance their careers.
- Employer partnerships that foster on-the-job training opportunities.
At the inaugural 2024 event, Proteus honored exceptional individuals and organizations, including Andrew Rayburn, a farmworker turned educator, and Central Community College, a partner making meaningful impacts in the lives of farmworkers.
