Hero/Heroes: Miriam at 13 years old. Navigating life on your own is always a challenge especially when you are a child that had to grow up so fast in a third-world country that lacks opportunities. Nevertheless, the tears, missing family, the lessons learned, the disappointments, the accomplishments, and meeting kind people along the way is what made me into the person that I am today.
Favorite Produce Item: Corn – My mother made tortillas 3 times a day, we ate tortillas with every single dish she fixed. However, the best meal to have tortillas with was black beans, huevos rancheros, platanos, queso, and crema. To this day I would give up any fancy meal for my childhood breakfast.
