Favorite Proteus Memory: My favorite Proteus memory is during the Farmworkers Breakfast when we asked the Farmworkers to stand while everyone applauded. One of the workers in the back wiped tears from his face. Later that morning, I asked him what he was feeling when we applauded, and he said “no one has ever cared about us or about the work we do, it touched me to have people care about us.”
Favorite Produce Item: My favorite is the tomato. I remember the tomato fights we would have while we worked. During lunch, we would sit in a circle and break out the tacos, of course with a tomato or onion from the fields we picked.
