Healthy Harvests Start with Healthy Workers: Proteus Makes Strides in 2024

Proteus Inc. is thrilled to announce a significant increase in the number of farmworkers we’re serving through our Agricultural Health program this year! As of the end of May, we’ve provided essential healthcare services to over 650 patients – surpassing our numbers for this point in any previous year.

This surge highlights the vital role Proteus plays in ensuring the well-being of our agricultural workforce. We understand the demanding nature of farmwork and the unique health challenges these essential workers face. By providing affordable and accessible healthcare, we’re committed to keeping farmworkers healthy and productive.

Here’s a glimpse into the diverse services we offer:

  • Preventive Care: We offer preventative screenings, like mammograms for early detection of breast cancer, to help farmworkers maintain good health.
  • Chronic Disease Management: Proteus supports farmworkers living with chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure through ongoing care and medication management.
  • Migrant Onboardings: Our team provides crucial services to newly arrived H-2A workers, including health screenings, cultural orientation, and access to resources, easing their transition to a new country.

The impact of these services is undeniable:

  • Improved health outcomes: Early detection and management of health issues lead to better overall health for farmworkers and their families.
  • Reduced healthcare costs: Preventative care can help lower overall healthcare costs in the long run.
  • A healthier and more productive workforce: When farmworkers are healthy, they can work more effectively, contributing significantly to our agricultural economy.

We couldn’t do it without you! Thanks to the unwavering support of our donors and volunteers, Proteus is able to expand its reach and serve more farmworkers in need.
