Proteus, Inc. hosted their annual fundraising event called, “I’m Thankful for Farmworkers” and raised $57,665. Funds raised will go to support the Proteus mission to provide agricultural workers and their families with affordable healthcare, education assistance, and job training.

Individuals interested in contributing to the Proteus mission can donate through our website at proteusinc.net.

The event included a program that celebrated farmworkers, partner agencies, a silent auction, the launch of the Proteus tagline,  and more. Since the event was held virtually, individuals can watch it through Facebook or YouTube.

Over the past year Proteus has helped over 400 farmworking families achieve self-sufficiency, provided healthcare to over 1,700 patients each year, and trained over 7,000 farmworkers on health and safety.  An updated strategic plan has identified an opportunity for the expansion of programs, such as taking the Proteus healthcare delivery model to small meat processing facilities.

Daniel Zinnel, Chief Executive Officer at Proteus, Inc. said, “it was an honor to celebrate farmworkers across Iowa, Nebraska, and Indiana. We are so grateful for the work they do each and every day thank you so much to all who made this event possible, especially our sponsors. With their support, we were able to exceed our goal of raising over $50,000.”
