Project Coordinator - Priority Population Tobacco Preclusion Project

This position is located in our Des Moines office and will establish a state-wide community coalition to address tobacco use, education, and control among Iowa’s Latino population. The work plan for the first year includes a community needs assessment, and strategic planning. Duties include supervision, budgeting, reporting, training, project management, and monitoring. Requirements include travel around state, public speaking, communication skills, computer knowledge of MS Word and Access, valid driver’s license, and min. car insurance. Bilingual Spanish required. Minimum qualifications: AA Degree and 1 year experience in project management, public health, or management. Experience with coalition building, strategic planning, and community assessment is a plus.  Excellent benefits. Migrant Health Aide

Proteus seeks an individual to work in our Iowa City office. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Travel to outreach migrants, transport patients to providers, translate for patients and/or health providers, provide basic nursing care under supervision, refer patients to health providers, record in patient charts, assist patients in follow-up to physician orders, etc. Busy work schedule during July-September which will include evenings and some weekend work. Bilingual Spanish/English required. Two years clinical work experience preferred but not required.
